[74 - 76] memorial day weekend is finally here and
[76 - 77] that means it's time to get ready for
[78 - 80] your cookout when i think about cookouts
[80 - 81] one of the first things that come to
[81 - 83] mind is pasta salad and today i'm going
[83 - 85] to show you not one but two different
[85 - 87] ways to make a delicious pasta salad for
[87 - 89] your family this weekend we have one of
[89 - 91] my favorites which is seafood pasta
[91 - 92] salad and then we have something a
[92 - 93] little bit more traditional which will
[94 - 96] be the italian pasta salad but before we
[96 - 98] get into the recipes please take a quick

[103 - 104] meet me in the kitchen let's make it
[104 - 106] happen first things first we're going to
[106 - 108] take a look at our seafood salad
[108 - 110] ingredients we have some elbow macaroni
[110 - 112] some crab meat some bay scallops some
[112 - 115] shrimp sweet relish dukes mayonnaise
[115 - 118] bell pepper onion celery and some lemon
[118 - 119] super simple ingredients that most
[119 - 121] people have at the house already outside
[121 - 124] of maybe the seafood speaking of seafood
[124 - 125] we're gonna go ahead and start prepping
[125 - 127] this shrimp these are large shrimp so if
[127 - 129] you get the smaller version you may not
[129 - 131] need to chop them up but for me i'm
[131 - 132] gonna go ahead and cut them in half or
[132 - 134] into thirds depending on how big the
[134 - 136] shrimp are you really want them to be
[136 - 138] just about bite-sized pieces similar in
[138 - 140] size to the base scallops and the elbow
[140 - 142] macaroni noodles that way everything
[142 - 144] fits on the fork nicely that's what it's
[144 - 145] all about making sure that everything's
[145 - 147] about the same size that we get a nice
[147 - 149] bite there we go we got our seafood
[149 - 151] prepped and ready we're gonna go ahead
[151 - 153] and warm a skillet over medium heat add
[153 - 154] some butter because butter makes
[154 - 156] everything taste better then we're going
[156 - 158] to add that seafood and season it up
[158 - 159] with my all-purpose seasoning followed
[159 - 161] by some old bay
[161 - 163] there we go make sure you season the
[163 - 165] taste and taste as you go and adjust
[165 - 167] accordingly quick reminder guys that all

[168 - 170] ingredients for this recipe can be found

[174 - 176] things up a little bit lemon always
[176 - 178] pairs nicely with seafood
[178 - 180] there we go this cooks really quickly
[180 - 182] too guys we're looking for about 145
[182 - 184] degrees internal temperature on both the
[184 - 186] scallops and the shrimp there we go
[186 - 188] we're going to use a slotted spoon to
[188 - 189] remove the seafood that way we leave
[189 - 191] behind some of that extra moisture we
[191 - 193] don't want to get all that liquid into
[193 - 195] our macaroni noodles here in a minute
[195 - 196] now it's time to make our sauce so we're
[196 - 198] going to start with some mayonnaise some
[199 - 200] and then we're going in with a little
[200 - 202] bit of worst word in the world sauce and
[202 - 204] whatever hot sauce you like a few dashes
[204 - 206] of each you don't have to get too crazy
[206 - 208] with that and then the same seasoning as
[208 - 210] before the all-purpose seasoning in the
[210 - 212] old bay if you don't have my all-purpose
[212 - 213] seasoning guys just use whatever you
[213 - 215] have at the house that you enjoy we're
[215 - 217] going in with a pinch of sugar as well
[217 - 219] just to balance the flavors a bit break
[219 - 221] out the whisk and mix to combine again
[221 - 223] taste as you go and adjust accordingly
[223 - 225] and now my friends it's time to go ahead
[225 - 227] and add in our veggies we have onion
[227 - 229] bell pepper and celery if for whatever
[229 - 230] reason you don't like one of these
[230 - 232] veggies feel free to leave them out you
[232 - 233] could also use a green bell pepper here
[234 - 236] i chose the red for the color contrast
[236 - 238] it provides with the celery now we're
[238 - 239] going in with that overpriced lump crab
[239 - 242] meat feel free to use claw or whatever's
[242 - 244] in the budget for this recipe as well
[244 - 245] then we're going in with the bay
[245 - 247] scallops and the shrimp after they've
[247 - 248] had time to cool you really want to put
[248 - 250] them in the refrigerator for about 20
[250 - 251] minutes to let them chill out once
[251 - 253] they're nice and cool we're gonna add
[253 - 254] them to the rest of our seafood and mix
[254 - 257] everything to combine for my keto folks
[257 - 258] you could stop right here and you have a
[258 - 261] delicious seafood salad but for the rest
[261 - 262] of us we're moving on to the pasta part
[262 - 264] so we're gonna add tomato to our elbow
[264 - 266] macaroni that's already been cooked
[266 - 269] drained and cooled mix that in just to
[269 - 271] kind of lubricate the situation a little
[271 - 272] bit and then we're going to fold all
[272 - 275] that together making a fantastic seafood
[275 - 277] pasta salad that you're going to
[277 - 279] refrigerate and bring to the cookout or
[279 - 280] host at your house whatever you decide
[280 - 282] to do this seafood salad is going to
[282 - 284] blow the roof off the place i promise
[285 - 287] you give that a good mix make sure you salt
[287 - 289] give that a good mix make sure you salt your pasta water anytime you boil pasta
[289 - 290] that way there's some flavor in the
[290 - 293] noodles as well and speaking of flavor
[293 - 294] my friends we're going in with a little
[294 - 295] bit more old bay because why the hell
[295 - 297] not this is seafood salad and you need a
[298 - 300] little old bay in there trust me on that
[300 - 303] take a look at this guys oh man
[303 - 304] this is definitely one of my summer
[304 - 308] favorites right here
[310 - 310] go ahead and cover that and put that in
[310 - 311] the fridge and we're gonna move on to
[311 - 314] the italian style pasta salad and i'm
[314 - 315] gonna get you guys to let me know in the
[315 - 316] comments which one you think is gonna be
[316 - 318] better we're getting the party started
[318 - 319] with the dressing we're gonna add some
[319 - 321] olive oil to a mixing bowl along with
[321 - 324] some roasted garlic some lemon zest and
[324 - 326] some lemon juice followed by some gray
[326 - 328] poupon or dijon mustard whatever you
[328 - 330] have two teaspoons of that and some
[330 - 333] balsamic vinegar followed by some honey
[333 - 335] to sweeten the situation up a little bit
[335 - 337] going in with some fresh chopped parsley
[337 - 339] and some fresh chopped basil
[339 - 340] a pinch of sugar and a little bit of
[342 - 343] break out the whisk and mix to combine
[343 - 345] make sure you taste this and adjust it
[345 - 346] accordingly you can add some red pepper
[346 - 348] flakes for some heat if you want to you
[348 - 350] know i'm going to and a little bit of
[350 - 352] all-purpose seasoning as well you could
[352 - 353] throw in a little dried italian
[353 - 355] seasoning if you don't have the fresh
[355 - 357] herbs and this is a fantastic homemade
[357 - 359] salad dressing nice and easy simple
[359 - 361] ingredients that you probably have at
[361 - 363] the house already but if you're feeling
[363 - 364] lazy go ahead and grab your favorite
[364 - 365] salad dressing from the store and
[366 - 367] that'll work as well i personally like
[367 - 369] the olive garden salad dressing you can
[369 - 370] find that at most grocery stores these
[370 - 372] days now as far as the ingredients go
[372 - 374] for our italian pasta salad we got some
[374 - 377] pepperoni we have some salami we have
[377 - 378] cheddar cheese which really isn't
[378 - 380] traditional but i like the color and the
[380 - 383] taste we got mozzarella red onion bell
[383 - 386] pepper cherry tomatoes some black olives
[386 - 387] if you don't like olives feel free to
[387 - 389] leave them out and i like to throw some
[389 - 391] sun-dried tomatoes in mine pretty simple
[391 - 392] prep work here we're just going to chop
[392 - 394] the meat into bite-size pieces along
[394 - 396] with the cheddar cheese the mozzarella
[396 - 398] already came pre-portioned for us so we
[398 - 400] got lucky with that today we're using
[400 - 402] some tri-color rotini noodles that we've
[402 - 404] already boiled and cooled make sure you
[404 - 406] salt your pasta water now we're going to
[406 - 407] go ahead and add in that homemade
[408 - 410] dressing oh man this is gonna be
[410 - 412] fantastic at your next cookout let me
[412 - 413] know in the comments which one of these

[415 - 417] personally i would serve both of these
[417 - 419] at the next cookout if i were you get in
[419 - 420] there with your hands make sure those
[420 - 422] noodles are coated evenly again if you
[422 - 423] don't want to make your own homemade
[423 - 425] dressing just use whatever salad
[425 - 427] dressing you enjoy with your pasta salad
[427 - 429] but this one is good to go if you want
[429 - 430] to give it a try you can put it in the
[430 - 432] fridge and keep it for your salads and
[432 - 433] your meal preps now we're going to go
[433 - 435] ahead and add all the rest of the
[435 - 437] ingredients here we got the tomatoes the
[437 - 440] bell pepper the cheese the salami the
[440 - 443] pepperoni we got some sun-dried tomatoes
[443 - 446] some red onion black olives all the good
[446 - 447] stuff i'm gonna get in there with my
[447 - 449] hands and mix this together since i have
[449 - 451] these gloves on but obviously you can
[451 - 452] toss it around with a spoon or whatever
[452 - 454] you want to use the goal here is to make
[454 - 455] sure that everything is evenly
[456 - 458] distributed and coated evenly in that
[458 - 460] amazing dressing that we made and now my
[460 - 462] friends it's time to plate this up brace
[462 - 464] yourself for a trademark money shot say
[464 - 466] it with me guys looking good going down
[466 - 468] with a little old bay and some diced
[468 - 470] chai for a pop of color
[470 - 472] and it's just about time to get in here
[472 - 474] for a taste test i can't wait let me
