Ingredients

2 ounces whiskey Rye is more traditional and dry

0.5 ounces sweet vermouth Usually red

0.5 ounces dry vermouth Usually white

2 dashes bitters

1 piece maraschino cherry You can use a small piece of lemon peel as an alternative

Directions

Add rye, sweet vermouth, dry vermouth, and bitters to a cocktail shaker with ice and stir. Strain ice as you pour into a rocks or martini glass, or pour ice and drink into a tumbler. Garnish with a maraschino cherry or a small piece of lemon peel.
