[5 - 5] if you've ever sat down to a glass of a

[5 - 7] nitrogenated stout at the bar or maybe

[7 - 8] you have a can at home with one of those

[8 - 9] little widgets in it you've seen a

[9 - 12] cascade of bubbles fall down the side of

[12 - 13] the glass as it pours in

[13 - 15] it's a crazy phenomenon I always

[15 - 16] understood it to be the fact that

[16 - 18] nitrogen and solution makes tiny little

[18 - 19] bubbles and those can actually be pushed

[19 - 21] down so that explains some of it but I

[21 - 23] didn't understand it fully so I found an

[23 - 25] article in the American Journal of

[25 - 26] physics that goes a little bit further

[26 - 28] and mentions that the glass shape

[28 - 29] actually is a big impact on whether this

[29 - 32] happens or doesn't happen and so in a

[32 - 34] classic pint glass shape they claim that

[34 - 35] the bubbles will fall down the side and

[35 - 37] then up through the center and in a

[37 - 39] circular motion like that so if you have

[39 - 40] a glass let's shape like that it will

[40 - 43] happen and I claim that in a glass like

[43 - 44] this which is a wine glass it's not made

[45 - 46] for this it's the opposite shape you'll

[46 - 48] actually have the opposite thing

[48 - 49] happened so you'll have a circular flow

[49 - 51] this way where the bubbles are rising up

[51 - 53] like they would in a classic beer so

[53 - 55] never tried it before really curious to

[55 - 56] see if it happens so we're going to pour

[56 - 58] into both we're gonna see what happens

[58 - 66] and then we'll drink some too

[69 - 69] oh yeah look at that beautiful cascade

[69 - 73] of bubbles it almost looks like magic

[83 - 85] actually do go up in the wineglass

[85 - 90] that's crazy it works so it worked that
