[2 - 2] what's up guys welcome back the kids are
[2 - 4] back in school and that means you guys
[4 - 6] need something quick and easy for dinner
[6 - 8] tonight and I have just a thing today
[8 - 9] I'm going to show you my recipe for this
[9 - 12] delicious cheesy Taco Skillet but before
[12 - 14] we get into that please take a quick
[14 - 15] second to subscribe to the channel make
[15 - 17] sure you hit that Bell to enable
[17 - 19] notifications as well alright guys meet
[19 - 20] me in the kitchen let's make it happen
[20 - 22] first things first let's prep our
[22 - 24] ingredients to get the party started we
[24 - 26] have an onion so after your onion is
[26 - 28] diced up we're going to break out one of
[28 - 30] my favorite ingredients which are these
[30 - 34] uh chipotle peppers in Adobo super Smoky
[34 - 37] tons of flavor packs quite a bit of a
[37 - 39] punch when it comes to the heat as well
[39 - 41] so be careful if you don't like too much
[41 - 43] spice we're gonna take a few of these
[43 - 44] peppers and kind of just
[44 - 47] dice them up almost into like a paste
[47 - 49] we'll add a little bit of the sauce from
[49 - 51] the can and that's going to add a nice
[51 - 55] Smoky spicy element to our dish if
[55 - 56] you're making this for the kids though
[56 - 57] and they don't like heat you can leave
[57 - 59] this part out just go with the green
[59 - 61] bell pepper or something like that as
[61 - 62] you guys probably know if you've watched
[62 - 64] my channel I'm a big proponent of
[64 - 66] grating your own cheese I feel like it
[66 - 69] melts easier and better it's usually a
[69 - 70] higher quality product it doesn't have
[70 - 73] all those anti-caking agents like potato
[73 - 76] starch and whatnot so today we're using
[76 - 77] colby jack cheddar and a little
[77 - 80] mozzarella but use whatever cheese you
[80 - 81] got in the fridge because that's what
[81 - 83] I'm doing now the title of this video
[83 - 85] was a Cheesy Taco Skillet so it's only
[87 - 89] right we bring to Thunder with extra cheese so
[89 - 90] we bring to Thunder with extra cheese so we got
[90 - 93] three different cheeses going in here
[94 - 96] today three of my favorites too let me know in
[96 - 98] three of my favorites too let me know in the comments what your favorite cheese
[98 - 99] is all right so we have our cast iron
[99 - 103] skillet over medium high heat we got our
[103 - 106] elbow macaroni boiling
[106 - 108] and now it's time to get our ground beef
[108 - 109] in that Skillet we added a little
[114 - 114] then I'm gonna add the ground beef and
[114 - 116] just smash it down with my hands to make
[117 - 118] sure it's making maximum surface area
[118 - 121] contact with that skillet that's going
[121 - 124] to ensure we get a nice crust which is
[124 - 126] going to provide color and flavor now we
[126 - 128] need some seasoning in there we got some
[128 - 130] beef bouillon powder a little chili
[130 - 133] powder about a half teaspoon of the
[135 - 138] bouillon one teaspoon of chili powder
[138 - 139] one teaspoon of chili powder quick reminder guys that all the
[139 - 141] specific measurements and ingredients
[141 - 142] are listed for you down below next we
[142 - 145] got some cumin and some smoked paprika
[145 - 147] basically like a homemade taco blend
[147 - 149] guys you can pick up a taco packet from
[149 - 151] the store if you want to
[151 - 159] but it's good to make it at home too so
[161 - 161] last but not least we're gonna cover all
[161 - 163] our bases by using the all-purpose
[164 - 165] seasoning you could also just use a little salt
[165 - 169] you could also just use a little salt and pepper totally up to you
[170 - 170] and we're just going to give it a little
[170 - 172] bit of time basically treat it like a
[172 - 188] Smash Burger right now
[190 - 190] so once you start to get some color on
[190 - 191] the bottom we're going to go ahead and
[191 - 194] break up the beef with your spatula
[194 - 196] give it a good mix make sure all that
[196 - 199] seasoning is well combined
[199 - 201] if you see any excess fat in the skillet
[201 - 203] you can drain that but you do want a
[203 - 204] little bit in there to help cook those
[205 - 207] onions so I'll let you make the game day
[207 - 210] so I'll let you make the game day decision on that
[212 - 212] beautiful color smells like taco
[213 - 214] seasoning that's usually meaning that
[214 - 216] you're heading in the right direction
[216 - 218] once the ground beef is cooked we're
[218 - 220] going in with our onion
[220 - 222] we're gonna sweat that down once that
[222 - 224] onion starts to soften up we'll go in
[224 - 232] with the Chipotle peppers and adobo
[236 - 236] now in goes the diced Chipotles we're
[236 - 238] also going to add some of the juice from
[238 - 241] the can if we can get some out of there
[241 - 243] well we're gonna add a tablespoon of
[248 - 248] and that's already smelling amazing in
[254 - 254] next up we're going in with about a half
[255 - 258] cup of sweet corn followed by a half cup of
[258 - 261] of sweet corn followed by a half cup of black beans
[261 - 264] we're also going to add about a half cup
[264 - 269] of fire roasted tomatoes
[271 - 271] let's give that a mix
[271 - 273] I'm gonna add a little bit of tomato
[273 - 277] paste and some beef broth
[277 - 279] get those elbow macaroni noodles in here
[279 - 281] with plenty of cheese
[281 - 285] and pop that in the oven
[285 - 286] quick and easy
[286 - 288] and delicious
[291 - 295] also known as fancy Hamburger Helper
[295 - 299] about two tablespoons of tomato paste
[299 - 304] let's give that a good mix
[306 - 306] we're using up every centimeter of this
[306 - 310] 12 inch cast iron skillet today
[312 - 312] about a cup of beef broth we're gonna
[312 - 315] bring that to a simmer let all those
[315 - 316] flavors come together we're going to
[316 - 319] taste for seasoning and then again get
[319 - 320] those elbow macaroni noodles in there
[320 - 346] with some cheese
[356 - 356] I'm getting the heat that I want but I'm
[356 - 358] gonna add a little bit more seasoning so
[360 - 362] and then just a pinch of beef bouillon
[362 - 364] we're gonna mix that in top it with
[364 - 366] cheese get it into 350 degree oven for
[366 - 368] about 20 minutes
[368 - 371] oh man look at that
[371 - 373] a little food pouring action for you
[382 - 382] something nostalgic about Hamburger
[383 - 385] Helper you can call it Skillets and casseroles
[385 - 390] you can call it Skillets and casseroles and bakes but this is Hamburger Helper
[390 - 392] I need a little white bread with some
[394 - 401] I eat this for a week
[403 - 403] so now we're gonna go ahead and make a
[403 - 406] real quick avocado salsa just to kind of
[406 - 408] garnish this up with you can eat it as a
[408 - 410] snack as well we got some Tomatoes about
[411 - 413] followed by a quarter cup of diced red
[413 - 416] onion a diced avocado I'm gonna try to
[416 - 419] break up a little bit with my hands here
[419 - 421] I'm going to toss this all together with
[421 - 423] a little salt and pepper and some lime
[423 - 426] juice and this is going to go right on
[426 - 428] top of our casserole again you could
[429 - 432] garnish it however you want to you could
[432 - 434] treat this as a snack serve it at the
[434 - 436] game with some tortilla chips
[436 - 439] whatever floats your boat
[439 - 443] half a lime worth of lime juice
[447 - 447] just to brighten everything up
[447 - 448] we're also going to add a pinch of
[448 - 451] cilantro that we diced up
[451 - 453] a little all-purpose seasoning or salt
[458 - 458] you can kind of toss it together get
[458 - 460] your spoon in there
[460 - 463] whatever is easiest for you and there
[463 - 466] you go guys real quick avocado salsa is
[466 - 468] going to look real nice on top of the
[469 - 471] casserole that my friends is what we're looking
[471 - 474] that my friends is what we're looking like fresh out of the oven we let this
[474 - 475] cool for about 10 minutes and then
[475 - 476] garnish it up
[476 - 477] all right so we're just going to take
[477 - 481] this avocado salsa and kind of put it
[481 - 485] right there in the center
[487 - 487] treat it kind of like a garnish a little
[489 - 491] bit it's my turn the kids off a little bit
[491 - 492] it's my turn the kids off a little bit depending on what kind of pallet they
[493 - 495] got so you can serve it on the side next I'm
[495 - 499] so you can serve it on the side next I'm going down with a little sour cream
[500 - 500] just added to one of these cute little
[500 - 503] squirt bottles
[503 - 510] then I'm going to do some drizzle
[512 - 512] just for a little presentation
[512 - 514] last but not least a little diced
[514 - 516] cilantro and this is the part why I say
[516 - 518] brace yourself for a trademark money
[518 - 521] shot say it with me guys looking good
[521 - 523] the only thing left to do my friends is
[523 - 526] dig in for the taste test but before we
[526 - 527] do that please take a quick second to
[527 - 529] subscribe to the channel make sure you
[529 - 531] hit that Bell to enable notifications as
[531 - 533] well alright my friends the moment the
[533 - 535] truth has arrived
[538 - 540] childhood memories if your kids don't
