[3 - 3] it's so finely processes the kale you
[3 - 4] don't have anything in your teeth so it
[4 - 6] reduces all those embarrassing moments
[6 - 8] in the
[11 - 13] [Music] office everyone should have a blender in
[13 - 15] office everyone should have a blender in their kitchen they're vital for so many
[15 - 18] recipes from smoothies to Margaritas to
[18 - 20] Hummus and more there are countless
[20 - 22] blenders on the market and we've tested
[22 - 24] every kind from high-end to inexpensive
[24 - 26] and everything in between but do you
[26 - 28] really need a high-end blender or will
[28 - 31] an inexpensive opt do the trick Lisa and
[31 - 33] I are going to show you our favorites to
[33 - 40] help you decide first up
[42 - 42] Hannah all right so I am here with our
[42 - 45] high-end blender winner the Vitamix 5200
[45 - 47] this has been our longtime winner we've
[47 - 49] Revisited the category several times
[49 - 51] over the years and it wins every time
[51 - 53] this machine actually won because of
[53 - 55] this canister it has a long thin
[55 - 57] canister and that's what differentiated
[57 - 59] the winners from the losers here the
[59 - 61] Vitamix actually keeps the food more
[61 - 63] contained so it incorporates less air
[63 - 65] you get a silkier blend you know when
[65 - 67] you have to stop and scrape down mid
[67 - 69] blend you do that less with a taller
[69 - 71] thinner jar because it keeps all the
[71 - 73] contents down towards the bottom and
[73 - 75] when you have a bigger wider blender jar
[75 - 77] everything gets over a rated so your
[77 - 79] smoothies kind of frothy and bubbly
[79 - 81] instead of like dense and velvety and
[81 - 84] smooth so a Slimmer profile jar actually
[84 - 87] gets you better blending results we also
[87 - 90] like the shorter Vitamix and those fit
[90 - 92] under cabinets better they're great too
[92 - 94] but this tall slim canister just does
[94 - 96] the best blend so we preference to that
[96 - 98] but this thing is an absolute Workhorse
[98 - 100] it has a 7-year warranty these machines
[100 - 101] were in restaurants first you know see
[101 - 104] these are built for heavy use you know
[104 - 106] one thing I will say about vitam xes 2
[106 - 107] is they're relatively quiet you know
[108 - 109] it's a blender so it's not going to be
[109 - 111] like quiet quiet but compared to other
[111 - 113] blenders they're on the quieter end of
[113 - 114] the Spectrum which is really nice
[114 - 115] especially if you're blending in the
[115 - 117] morning all right so I want to show you
[117 - 118] this thing in action let's go make a
[118 - 121] smoothie so here I am I'm with our
[121 - 122] classic testing smoothie we always test
[122 - 124] with the same smoothie and it's chosen
[124 - 127] for very specific reasons we use frozen
[127 - 129] pineapple because it's really tough and
[129 - 132] fibrous and then we also use Kale for
[132 - 133] the same reason tough and fibrous we
[133 - 134] want to give them a challenge we want to
[135 - 136] see if they can really break something
[136 - 139] down into a beautifully clean even green
[139 - 141] I didn't take the stems out of the kale
[142 - 143] you know make it work a little harder
[143 - 145] see how that goes and then we also use
[145 - 146] orange juice to keep everything nice and
[147 - 148] liquidy and mixing this is such a
[148 - 150] delicious smoothie when you test
[150 - 151] blenders nobody wants to be near you in
[151 - 153] the test kitchen because it's loud but
[153 - 155] everyone wants the Smoothie so you can
[155 - 156] kind of like make friends again once you
[156 - 167] like make all these [Music]
[167 - 176] [Music] enemies all right so here we
[179 - 179] go beautiful pouring spout if I might
[180 - 185] add gorgeously smooth velvety green
[189 - 189] smoothie oh it's so good so I do want to
[189 - 190] take a pause talking about full-size
[190 - 192] blenders and give a shout out to
[192 - 194] immersion blenders which are fantastic
[194 - 197] our winner is the Brun multi 5 it is so
[197 - 199] awesome you can blend soup right in the
[199 - 200] pot you don't have to pour hot soup in
[200 - 202] your blender they are awesome I honestly
[202 - 203] I think you should get both but today
[203 - 206] we're just focusing on the big boys all
[206 - 208] right so that is a Vitamix 5200 it's
[208 - 210] awesome if you have the money to spend
[210 - 213] we say get this one it makes super Fine
[213 - 216] Results beautifully velvety Blends you
[216 - 218] can do all kinds of things in it you
[218 - 221] know smoothies Margaritas you can do
[221 - 223] tougher things like almond butter or
[223 - 224] almond milk you know you can actually
[224 - 226] grind grains in these things you know
[227 - 228] they're really impressive that
[228 - 230] restaurant Heritage you know it comes
[230 - 232] with that durability and performance so
[232 - 234] you really are getting something for the
[234 - 237] high price do you have a Vitamix do you
[237 - 239] use an immersion blender do I have kale
[239 - 241] in my teeth let us know in the comments
[241 - 242] now let's go over to Lisa and check out
[242 - 244] her mid-range and inexpensive blenders
[244 - 249] and see how they
[252 - 252] compare so Hannah showed us the results
[252 - 254] of our high-end blender testing we love
[254 - 257] the Vitamix 5200 I have here the results
[257 - 259] of two other testings where we tested
[259 - 261] mid-price blenders and inexpensive
[261 - 263] blenders under $100 these are the
[263 - 265] winners in each case we tested up to
[265 - 267] eight models put them through all those
[267 - 269] tests to see how durable they were how
[269 - 271] tough they were were how loud they were
[271 - 272] our mid-price winner is called the
[272 - 275] brevel fresh and Furious and it's pretty
[275 - 277] tough it has long blades that are all
[277 - 279] different angles we found that those
[279 - 281] different angled blades really get in
[282 - 284] there and pick everything up it's got a
[284 - 286] jar that's not too wide not too narrow
[286 - 289] and it has these nice vertical ribs that
[289 - 291] will push things around so that you get
[291 - 293] a nice movement you get that Vortex
[294 - 295] going it's got some pre-programmed
[295 - 297] settings like a smoothie setting but it
[297 - 299] also operates manually and it has a nice
[300 - 301] countdown feature so you know how long
[301 - 303] you're going for so if you need to do
[303 - 305] something for 30 seconds you can watch
[305 - 306] it right there you don't have to look at
[306 - 309] another timer it's very easy to handle
[309 - 312] you can put it down anywhere on the base
[312 - 314] so if you're a lefty or a righty very
[314 - 317] handy for a less expensive one this is
[317 - 319] about $89 it's the neutr bullet
[319 - 321] full-size blender this shares a lot of
[321 - 323] the characteristics of the Vitamix and
[323 - 325] the brevel it's powerful it's got some
[325 - 327] long blades that go up and down in
[327 - 328] different directions that catch a lot of
[329 - 330] the food it's got these deep ribs that
[330 - 332] help create a Vortex and move the food
[332 - 334] through the jar down to the blades and
[334 - 336] up again so you get this great
[336 - 338] circulation that really hard test that
[338 - 340] usually kills a lot of blenders which is
[340 - 341] to grind almond butter from Whole
[341 - 344] toasted almonds this guy had no problem
[344 - 347] very powerful very roomy has this nice
[347 - 349] big lid does the same thing it seals up
[349 - 352] pretty well it has an opening here and
[352 - 354] it comes with something that the Vitamix
[354 - 355] also has which is a tamper it's
[355 - 357] deliberately not reaching down to the
[357 - 359] blade so you don't cut it up but it can
[359 - 360] help push P things down you know one of
[360 - 362] the things we found about this model
[362 - 363] compared to a lot of the other
[363 - 365] inexpensive blenders it's perfect for
[365 - 368] big you know frozen drinks or smoothies
[368 - 370] it did great with almond butter it can
[370 - 372] make anything that the bigger blenders
[372 - 374] can make with one exception it's very
[374 - 376] powerful and when you want to make
[376 - 378] something like mayonnaise which was one
[378 - 380] of our tests it doesn't have a low
[380 - 382] enough speed to do that kind of finesse
[382 - 384] work to make manise you're putting an
[384 - 386] egg yolk and some oil and you need them
[386 - 389] to move at a good Pace but not too too
[389 - 391] fast so that they can blend and create
[391 - 393] an Emulsion which becomes that fluffy
[393 - 396] white mayonnaise this guy little too
[396 - 398] powerful for the Finesse but plenty of
[398 - 399] power for almost anything else you want
[399 - 402] to do with it and less than $100 very
[402 - 405] simple to operate low medium high and
[405 - 407] pulse and that's it no pre-programmed
[407 - 410] settings nothing fancy about this guy
[410 - 413] but nice raw power and there you have it
[413 - 415] for a price point that's under 100 the
[415 - 418] Neutra bullet the mid price the brevel
[418 - 420] fresh and Furious now we're going to
[420 - 424] make a smoothie
[455 - 455] so as you can see made a great smoothie
[455 - 457] in both of these blenders the mid price
[457 - 459] and the inexpensive for the brevel you
[459 - 461] get a little bit more hands-off
[461 - 463] programming and it's very easy to use
[463 - 465] and it's a really nice solid blender
[465 - 467] with a lot of power for less than half
[467 - 469] the price of the Vitamix the neutri
[469 - 472] bullet as you saw big roomy can do lots
[472 - 474] of things the only thing you're giving
[474 - 475] up is some of that finesse that you can
[475 - 477] get with this fresh and Furious or with
[477 - 481] the Vitamix it can't do really low slow
[481 - 483] things like mayonnaise and anything else
[483 - 485] you want to do in this for under $100
[485 - 487] it's a great Blender make sure to ask us
